I have a PDF that wont let me copy text from it (ie highlight, ctrl + c). How can I make it so that I can?

It is a PDF from Devry. They wont let you copy text because of copyright reasons. I know the computer is reading it as text because windows vista will read it out loud to me but the copy and paste function are disabled!

All I want is to be able to have it read certain sections out loud to me but the way it is right now it reads EVERYTHING on the page which includes a lot of stuff that makes my idea unpractical.

I have contacted Devry and they told me that they could not help me because that would go against their policy of making it as difficult and expensive as possible to learn anything.

Please help! How can I fix this?I have a PDF that wont let me copy text from it (ie highlight, ctrl + c). How can I make it so that I can?
you can't.. the whole purpose of a PDF document is so that no one can alter it. Sorry.... but trust me at my old job we had PDF docs that drove people crazy because you cant copy and paste text and they tried everything possible to do it but yea, otherise... heres a tip:

Ctrl + Print Screen -will copy anything on your computer screen at the time, and you can paste it into msword/mspaint and that way you can take out the chunks you want from the document... however, i dont know if your computer will read it as text after that, because techincally it becomes and image file... good luckI have a PDF that wont let me copy text from it (ie highlight, ctrl + c). Download a postscript printer driver (from HP for example).

Print the file to that postscript driver using FILE as the port.

Go into the postscript file with wordpad.
Or buy the Acrobat professional where u can open pdf files in word.
