Do plumping lip glosses actually work?

for plump lips all the time:

ou need to wear lip balm as much as you can during the day at all times, and at night apply ALOT before bed. i dont mean ';chapstick'; or ';lipsmackers'; coz they're not really moisturising, they're just all about smelling good and the cute packaging.

try Carmex, Burts Bees is AMAZING, Palmers CocoaButter Lip Balm, all the Nivea Lip Care lip balms are great too especially Light Kiss. keeping your lips very well moisturised makes them appear alottt fuller. have a lipbalm in your bag, one by your bed, one by ur computer etc. so you have lipbalm on alot of the day, at night try Blistex Intensive Moisuriser.

trust me it really helps im wearin lipbalm constantly an it makes them look moisturised and plumped up

2x a week you need to do this in the morning:

mix olive oil or sunflower oil with sugar in a bowl, put the gritty mixture onto a toothbrush and gently scrub your lips, wash this off and apply lots of lip balm. this exfoliating scrub makes lips healthy.

the best lip plumping gloss i have tried (and ive tried all these: Urban Decay Big Fatty Lip Plumper, the colored Too Faced Lip Injection Glosses, Lip Injection Extreme, Sally Hansen Lip Inflation, Blistex Lip Restore, Rimmel Volume Boost, Dior Addict Collagen Lip Maximiser, Soap%26amp;Glory Sexy Mother Pucker) the best by far is the original Too Faced Lip Injection%26gt;

(although i buy it from ebay as its quite alot cheaper on there)

id also recommend Sally Hansen Thin Lip Collagen Boost as a daily lip care product, its part of my everyday skincare routine, i apply it every night as it moisturises while promoting collagen production in your lips, the more you use it the better the results everyday. its pretty cheap too!

heres what it looks like%26gt;

home made lip plumpers:

theres a few ways to make a succesful lip plumper at home!

you need:

Vaseline-preferably the one in the green tin (with aloevera to moisturise)

Cayenne Pepper (this can be found in your supermarket with the spices)

instead of Cayenne Pepper you can also use Cinnamon or Black Pepper.

if possible pick up a lil bottle of Vitamin E oil from your local health shop, but this isnt necessary, it moisturises really well its great for your skin but if you cant find it dont worry u dont need it to make these lip plumpers.

scoop out a small amount of vaseline (just enough to cover your lips!) onto a plate/bowl.

take a tiny pinch of your chosen spice and mix it well with the vaseline

now put 1 tiny drop of vitamin E (if you have it)

apply this to your lips, carefully making sure you dont go outside the lip line. leave it on for 10 minutes, then wash it off and apply moisturising balm or gloss. your lips will be soo plump and pink it always works!

make up:

Cover the lips with foundation or concealer, just as one would on the rest of the face. Blend well.

you need a lip liner that is the same neutral shade/slightly darker than your lip, apply the liner carefully in a thin line JUST outside your natural lip line, starting in the middle of the top lip and working out toward each corner.

Line the bottom lip in the same fashion, starting in the middle and working toward the ends, stay close to the natural lip line to keep a realistic appearance. on the bottom lip in the middle, make the lipliner slightly darker (i made this pic so you can see whereabouts on the lip you need to make the line darker) this makes your bottom lip look very plump by creating the illusion of a shadow%26gt;

use a cotton bud or your finger to drag the liner down into your lip,

Use the same liner to completely fill color in the lips, use fingers to blend. Be sure that there are no obvious lines. Blot the liner with tissue if necessary or blend with a finger.now add your gloss, balm, plumping gloss or lipstick

using white/shimmery highlighter apply a very faint dot above your cupids bow, this will give your lips a poutier look and additional dimensionDo plumping lip glosses actually work?
I have only ever used to lip plumping lip glosses and they both worked, one was the Too Faced Lip Injection and the second was the Clinique Lip Plumping Lip Gloss. They both come in nice shades and plump your lips up without being painful. Not cheap of course but you can pick them up for a decent discount from http://www.beautyparlor.co.ukDo plumping lip glosses actually work?
Imo no they don't work. I tried too faced plumping lip gloss and all it did was made my lips tingle and gave me a rash around my lips! lol.

Basically lip plumpers are just ordinary lipgloss with menthol and cinnamon/peppermint oils to attract blood to the lips to plump them, they make your lips glossy, that's it:)
temporarily but here's a tip : brush your lips for about 2 minutes with a dry toothbrush, get a small sprinkling of chilli and coat it over your lips until it soaks in, and then put on some vaseline, this should cause a plumping effect that actually lasts.
temporarily: yes

forever: NO

i use the one by victoria secret and it works really good your lips feel all tingly and weird but its addicting and after the tingling stops about 3-5 mins it brings out the natural color of your lips while giving them a nice plump look (:
some do, but it's not a very lasting effect. i purchased some last year that made my lips tingle and swell. it felt kind of weird, but it worked. haha. i think it was from charlotte russe. (:
They make work temporarily but there is no way they can plump your lips permanently. I used one that I was kind of allergic to; it made my lips red and itchy and looked gross. So try a small amount first.
not really they just make your lips all cold and tingly... so you feel like they are plumper.. although the french connection one is good
